The Magistrate Court in  Ado-Ekiti   on Wednesday remanded a 16-year-old student, Kehinde Timilehin, who allegedly murdered his schoolmate.

The accused, a pupil of Ado Grammar School, Odo-Ado in Ado-Ekiti, is standing trial for murder of 18-year-old Favour Matthew.

The prosecutor, Insp. Johnson Okunade, said the  accused stabbed Matthew on the chest and killed him on December 6 in Ado-Ekiti.

The premier newspaper  reports that the court did not take the plea of the accused, as Chief Magistrate Adesoji Adegboye said he needed advice from the state Director of Public Prosecutions.

He ordered that the accused be kept at the state Children Correctional Centre, pending the DPP’s advice.

Adegboye adjourned the case until January 18, 2019 for mention.
