2019: Despite The ‘Koseleri’ Sufferings, Ajimobi Seeking 3rd Term Via Adelabu
The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde, has said that even if outgoing Governor Abiola Ajimobi had ruled with a human face, attempting to install his stooge as governor would have been tough.
In a statement from his campaign organization and released from Igboho late last night, Makinde said that it was political miscalculation for Ajimobi to ascribe unto himself, the role of a king maker In the midst of the Koseleri sufferings and grinding poverty being experienced by the masses.
Makinde’s spokesman, Prince Dotun Oyelade, quoted the PDP candidate as saying this at a parley with representatives of market women, artisans, teachers and other opinion leaders from Oke ogun.
Makinde wondered why any government will bargain with the minimum wage of 30k requested by workers and provocatively ask them to settle for 27k when they are unwilling to stem their own lavish lifestyles.
At the parley, Makinde repeated his earlier conviction that the government of Oyo state deliberately want to kill LAUTECH and sell its carcass to a targeted buyer who was the pro-chancellor of the institution at a time. He promised that the former leading university will be fully back on it’s feet as soon as he takes over in the state.
Makinde regretted that the APC governorship candidate Mr Bayo Adelabu did not see anything wrong in the anti-people policies of this administration.
According to Makinde, recent comments by Adelabu, including his statement last weekend that parents, no matter their status, must be financially involved in funding the education of their children as insensitive and unfortunate.
