Dangote Cement Plc says it has produced 398 millionaires, spread across different states of the nation in its ongoing “Bag of Goodies Promo Season 2”.

The company made the disclosure in a statement on Monday by Anthony Chiejina, Group Head, Corporate Communications, Dangote Industries Limited.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the promo, which started on  July 15, 2020, requires Dangote Cement Customers to retrieve scratch cards embedded with alphabets.

The alphabets, when put together, should spell Dangote and it qualifies such customer to be a millionaire.

The company’s aim is to give out N1 billion to 1,000 customers.

According to the statement, Funmi Sanni, Marketing Director, Dangote Industries Limited, said the aim of the promotion was to reward loyal customers by helping them recover more quickly from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sanni said: “The intention of this promo is to improve the lives of our consumers and customers because they are our backbone and we recognise that.

“So, to appreciate that fact, we packaged this promo in order for us to reach out to them in our own way.

“We understand the fact that our production process would not be complete without the consumers.

“If they are not there to pick up the product no matter how good the products are, we will not continue to be in business.

“Our customers are the people that are keeping us in business and we are rewarding them for their loyalty and saying that they can do more.

“We are making 1,000 people millionaires and you can imagine how many other people these lucky ones will impact.

“We have advised the new millionaires earlier that as they receive their alerts today, the money is meant to impact their lives and not to be wasted on parties.

“The money is meant for them to grow themselves, so that by next year when we are coming back here, we will hear testimonies from persons who got N1 million and has made N5 million out of it.

“We have introduced them to our distributors so that perhaps, if they are not yet in the cement business, they can start small as retailers and before you know it, they are big and employers of labour.”

According to the statement, Agoda Bright, a bricklayer in Sapele, Delta State, who received his N1 million bank alert at the venue of the event, expressed happiness to be among the winners and thanked Dangote for making him a millionaire.

Bright said: “God will bless Dangote for giving me this offer as I did not expect this before but today the Lord has done it for me.

“Dangote cement has made me to be a millionaire today; I am a bricklayer and while doing my work, I kept retrieving the scratch cards from the cement bags and spelt Dangote with the card alphabets.

“That is how I became a millionaire.”

Also, George Okoro, Regional Director, South South Dangote Cement, noted that the promo was to reward Nigerians for their continued patronage over the years for using Dangote cement.

Okoro added that the company remained committed to uplifting and raising living standards of Nigerians as well as their financial stability.

The Dangote regional director disclosed that apart from the N1 million given to winners, the company was also ready to give out N1 billion to 1,000 customers.

He added that other prices to be won included refrigerators, tricycles, recharge cards and televisions.398
