Nigerian Breweries Opens Entries For 8th Golden Pen Awards
.The Nigerian Breweries Plc on Tuesday said it has started receiving entries for the 8th edition of the Golden Pen Awards.
The Corporate Affairs Adviser of the company, Kufre Ekanem, announced this at a news conference at the company’s corporate headquarters in Lagos.
Ekanem said only published reports pertaining to education, talent development and youth empowerment would be considered.
He listed the categories and their prizes as:
The Nigerian Breweries Golden Pen Reporter of the Year (N1,000,000)
The Golden Pen Nigerian Breweries Report of the year (N500,000)
The NB Golden Pen Photojournalist of the Year (N500,000)
First runner-up NB Golden Pen Reporter of the year (N300,000)
Second runner-up NB Golden Pen Reporter of the year (N200,000)
First runner-up NB Photojournalist of the year (N250,000)
Second runner-up NB Photojournalist of the Year (N200,000).
Ekanem told newsmen that entries will be accepted from now until August 29.
Nominees will be announced early October, while the awards proper will take place on October 28.
He said the award was to celebrate the enduring relationship between the Nigerian Breweries Plc and journalists.
