Highlights As Ifeanyi Ubah Woos FIFA Boss, Infantino To Partner Anambra On Football Development

Highlights of Gianni Infantino’s 2-day working visit to Nigeria as it relates to football development in Anambra state are as follows:

1) A presentation of an Award by the Chairman of Anambra State FA, Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah on behalf of the association to the President of FIFA for Excellence and in recognition of his contributions to the development of football.

2) Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah, also on behalf of Anambra State FA handed a letter of request to FIFA President, Gianni Infantino for partnership with the state as it launches its unique programme tagged ‘Football Made in Anambra (1 Family – 1 Footballer)’ project billed to take off in October 2016.

3) Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah also presented a letter to Secretary General of FIFA M/s Fatma Samba Diouf Samoura, also requesting for FIFA’s partnership with the state to ensure that the State FA meets its goals with its programme – Football Made in Anambra.

4) Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah then took his time to explain exhaustively to the FIFA President and Secretary General, the nitty-gritty and fine details of the upcoming youth development oriented football programme in Anambra State which the State FA under his Leadership is about to launch, explaining the need for technical support from FIFA.

5) Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah also met with NPFL Club Owners Association which comprises of Chairmen and General Managers of the 20 clubs currently in the NPFL. The meeting was centered on how to sustain the renewed drive and passion for the Nigerian Professional Football League and the need for members of the association to synergize to sustain this passion.

6) The FA Chairmen of the 35 States in Nigeria welcomed the newest State FA Chairman Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah into its fold. “I am into football to build the sector and I promise to do this to the best of my ability and capacity …” Ubah to State FA Chairmen.

7) Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah led members of Anambra State FA Board to meet FIFA President Gianni Infantino and the Secretary General, M/s Fatma Samba Diouf Samoura. Introductions were also done.

8) Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah also introduced members of Anambra State FA Board to the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Barrister Solomon Dalung and the President of NFF, Dr. Amaju Pinnick.

9) FIFA President was then presented with an FC Ifeanyi Ubah (Anambra Warriors) jersey and muffler. This presentation was done by Dr. Ubah.

10) Dr. Ubah went further to explain FC Ifeanyi Ubah’s partnership deal with West Ham United FC and its prospects for the growth and development of Nigerian football, one which Gianni was really excited about.

11) Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah granted numerous interviews to the gentlemen of the press who were keen for his explanation of the programme – Football Made in Anambra (1 Family – 1 Footballer).

12) Dr. Ubah later joined NFF President, Dr. Amaju Pinnick to see FIFA President and the Secretary General off to the airport as they left Abuja after an NFF organized dinner to mark the end of the 2-day working visit
