15th Arise Women: Stakeholders Pour Encomium On Siju Iluyomade At Arise Golf & Football Charity Championship

The ongoing activities of 15th Arise Women edition has continued to receive greater support, with stakeholders in Golf and football showering praises of the Convener of Arise Women Foundation, Dr Siju Iluyomade for adding the two sports to the yearly activity to mark the Women empowerment initiative.

Held on Friday 20th October 2023 at the prestigious Ikoyi Club 1938, the Arise Golf Charity Tournament produced over 9winners in different categories. The competition which tee-off as early as 7am witnessed both female and male category as Golf enthusiasts showed their professional experience at the event.

Over the years of age Alhaja Bintu Tinubu, the Iyalode of Lagos won the Ladies Veteran category, while Mr Olanrewaju-Alo won the men veteran category. The Ladies net winner goes to E. Okhueleigbe while Tayo Rotimi won the male category. All the winners were later rewarded with trophies during the award presentation later in the Club, led by Chairman of Ikoyi Club 1938 Mustafa Zibiri-Aliu. Mr Zibiri-Aliu while prasing the initiator, Dr Siju, said, she is doing a great job with Non-governmental organization even as she continues to impact less privileged in the society.

Also, the Arise Football Academy match took place at the Mobolaji Johnson Stadium, the following day. The first match saw Arise Female Community defeating Arise Babes with a lone goal while the male category Charity match was won by Arise Community Team on penalty shootout after a 2-2 full time score. The Nigeria Head of Female department in the NPFL, Nkechi Obi who was represented at the even thank the organizers for encouraging Football development in Nigeria through the sponsorship of the Charity Tournament.
