Jimi Benson facilitates Distribution of 1,000 Solar Lamps to Schools in Ikorodu Federal Constituency

Hon Babajimi Benson, member of the House of Representatives, Ikorodu federal constituency facilitated the distribution of 1,000 solar lamps to 20 selected secondary schools in Ikorodu Federal Constituency.

This initiative was made possible through a partnership with SCI Altar Energy and Access Bank, with additional support from the Rural Electrification Agency, Lagos State Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Rite Foods, and Airtel.

The Schools that received the solar lamps include; Maya community junior grammar school
Isiwu senior grammar school, Community senior secondary school, Imota. Ifelodun junior high school, oke agbo, Imota. Gberigbe community senior secondary school. Ikorodu junior grammar school, ikorodu. elepe senior school, elepe
luwasa senior high school, ijede.
abule-eko community junior high school, ijede. yewa senior grammar school, aga, ikorodu. majidun by community senior secondary school, ikorodu. ipakodo senior secondary school, ipakodo. yewa junior secondary school, isawo, ikorodu and others.
The purpose of distributing these solar lamps is to provide an education intervention for the students. By having access to these lamps, the students will be able to light up their homes, complete their assignments, develop lifelong study discipline, improve their school performance, and utilize clean energy.

Adedoyin Adele Fadipe, CEO of SCI Altar Energy who was ably represented said Rep. Benson’s energy initiative shows a dedication to improving education and the lives of students in Ikorodu. They mentioned that Rep. Benson is working together with both Government and private organizations to tackle local issues and promote community growth.

Principal of Shams-EL-Deen Junior Grammar School, Ikorodu, Mrs Kadijat Bolatito Adedeji, expressed her admiration for Rep. Babajimi Benson’s solar energy initiative aimed at enhancing education. She emphasized that the implementation of solar energy will greatly benefit students, enabling them to comfortably complete their assignments even at night, which may have posed challenges previously.

Adeleke Oluwaseun, a student at Yewa Senior Grammar School, extended a special thank you to Rep. Babajimi Benson for providing him with the solar light, which will enable him to study effectively at home without the hindrance of inadequate lighting.

This is also part of Rep. Babajimi Benson’s larger initiative to light up every households in Ikorodu Division. He has been giving out solar-powered lighting systems to households in Ikorodu Division.
