LAGOS STANDSTILL AS HON KASUNMU GIVES BEFITTING FUNERAL TO LATE FATHER

Everywhere was agog and electrifying on Thursday 20th June 2024 at the expansive all of The Bell event centre when dignitaries from every divide of like, family, friends and well-wishers storm the final activity marking the funeral of High Chief Adekunle Olaosebikan Kasunmi, the father of the Deputy Majority Leader of Lagos State House of Assembly,  Hon Adedamola Richard Kasunmu, fondly known as (ARK).
The funeral programme which has commenced on Tuesday 18th with the Service of Song at the St.John Aglican, Iju-Ishaga, Lagos, where lots of people thronged to celebrate a life well spent in a spiritually-filled atmosphere by the late High Chief.  The Service of Song was followed by the Wake Keep and Tributes, at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Ajele, Lagos Island. It was an evening where officiating Clergymen encouraged the Children of Late Chief Kasunmu led by Hon Kasunmu of Lagos State House of Assembly  by  admonishing them not to mourn the death of their father but celebrate it, because it was spent to the betterment of humanity and glory of Almighty.  Couple of people including family and associates spoke glowingly of the personality of High Chief Kasunmu’s love, generosity and humility during his lifetime.
The final day of the activities started with Funeral Service at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Lagos, where officiating Ministers of God again encourages everyone to seek God guidance and emulate humility life espoused by late Pa Kasunmu. Climaxing the event was the reception after the interment had been done privately by family members. The ecstatic ambience of the reception was quite effervescent.  A panache of distinct emerald green Ankara, cap and gele Aso-Ebi on display, as guests shows off with different style.
Anchored by Popular event compere, Gbenga Adeyinka D 1st, who was as usual at his best, Hon Kasunmu and his siblings showed up early at the venue to welcome guests after he had exchanged pleasantries with the early birds to the event. Mechanical Engineer turned saxophonist, Beejay Sax was the first to energized the hall as usual, even as Hon Kasunmu and his beautiful wife dances to the great sound. The event which was well attended by political leaders and associates of Hon Kasunmu, not only in Ikeja Constituency 2 where he presently represents Ikeja in the Lagos State House of Assembly but across the country and beyond, witnessed the presence of majority of the members of Lagos Assembly led by the indefatigable Speaker. Rt. Hon Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa.
Speaking during the event, Hon Kasunmu who appreciated everyone for honoring his late Dad, spoke glowingly about his late parent including his Mother who died many years ago. He was emphatic that his late father was a very hardworking and humble man whose lifetime was mirror of a good legacy
The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly Hon Obasa, who was also honored to speak at the occasion, while consoling with family of Kasunmus,  admonished them to take solace in the fact that,Chief Kasunmu died as an achiever who left good lasting legacy behind. The atmosphere again went haywire when the official musician of the day the pooular Faith Band  began to serenade guests with their very lively sound. The beautifully decorated which was filled to the brim with guests who were all entertained with varieties of sumptuous delicacies, assorted drinks and everyone got a handful of gift from the family in honor of late High Chief Kasunmu.
Among those that grace the event was Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, his Deputy, Hon Mojisola Lasbat Meranda, The Olu of Aguda, Engr. Kehinde Akinola, Barr. Ladigbolu,  Former Deputy Speaker, Hon Funmi Tejuosho.
Also celebrities like AlhajiaTai Elemosho, Music star, Dare Art Alade were among other political leaders and associates of Hon Kasunmu who thronged the event.
