New Female Age-Group Donates Food Items, Diapers, Others To Eruobodo Special Children Home
…Calls For Govt Constant Support For The Less-Privileged
It was an excitement galore yesterday as new female age-group, otherwise known as Regberegbe (1989-1991) in Ijebuland donated food items and other household items to Eruobodo Special Children Home in Ijebu Ode, in Ijebu Ode local government area of the state.
Eruobodo House, is a home for children and young adults with physical disabilities who are brought together in a situation where they can live as a family with a brighter hope for the future.
Speaking during the donation exercise, the Iyalode of the age-group, Mrs Agbonyin Taiwo Adebusola said the foodstuffs and other items were meant to assist the vulnerable children and adults at this period of economic downturn.
She expressed the group resolve to always assist the needy and the less-privileged in the society.
Also, in a brief chat at the event, the Eta Iyalode of the group, Adelarin Adeyiga narrated that their essence was to come together and assist themselves and give back to their immediate communities through communal efforts.
The Fashionpreneur behind Stylehive Fabrics in Lagos state added that the beauty of the outreach was to extend their kind gesture to the motherless, and make them feel loved and not abandoned by the community at large.
“As a mother, I am touched with what I have seen here today. It gives me the opportunity not only to thank God, but remain committed in always extending my hands of support to the needy in the society,” she concluded.
In her own reaction, Mrs Adebisi Mebude, the Logistics Officer of the Regberegbe described the outreach programme as a resounding success, stressing further that it provides an opportunity for them at providing essential items and spreading of joy to the children at the orphanage.
She added that “it was amazing to see the tangible difference our efforts made, and I am proud to have been part of the age-group that is committed to making a positive impact in the society”.
Badmus Olamide, another member of the group who is a make-up artist opined that, though they were gradually coming up, they have made helping one another and extending their hands of friendship to the less-privileged in the society their watchwords.
According to her, “We have come here today to identify with the special children and we hope to continually involve in this kind of philanthropic gesture regularly,” Olamide added.
Items donated includes Semovita, Tomato paste, Vegetable oil, Palm-oil, Equsi, Onions, Dry fish, Plantain, crates of Egg, Diapers, Vaseline, Table Fan, Folic Acid, Multivitamin, Tissue pack and Detergent.
Meanwhile, the titled Chiefs of the new female age-groups include Mrs Taiwo Busola Agbongi (IYALODE, Onifade Mary Modupe (OTUN IYALODE), Adelarin Adeyiga (ETA IYALODE), Ebunlomo TAIYESE (BALOGUN) and Babalola Oluwadamilola (ASIWAJU).
