Senate Congratulates Buhari, Osinbajo
In a motion moved by the Senate Leader, Victor Ndoma-Egba, the Senate also congratulated Federal Lawmakers who have been elected State Governors, urging them to observe the rule of law and continue to maintain the integrity of the National Assembly.
Senator Boluwaji Kunlere, however, drew the attention of the Senate to the incidents which occurred in Niger and Kaduna States, where government officials were allegedly harassed at the inauguration ceremonies in the states.
President Muhammadu Buhari was sworn in as the President and Commander in Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on Friday, May 29, at the Eagles Square in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo had been sworn-in moments before this.
Past Nigerian leaders as well as other world leaders converged on the Federal Capital Territory to witness the inauguration ceremony.
