Peter Dedevbo retained as Falconets coach
The 2014 Fifa Coach of the Year for Women nominee has been retained by the NFF to handle the Nigeria U20 Women side
Coach Peter Dedevbo has been re-appointed as handler of the Nigeria U20 women team by the Nigeria Football Federation.
Under the guidance of Dedevbo, Nigeria went within inches of becoming the first African nation to become women’s world champions after losing to Germany 1-0 in the final of the Fifa U-20 Women’s World Cup in Canada.
He also boasts a strong connection with the many young stars of Nigerian women’s football, having also coached the U-17 national team at Azerbaijan 2012 prior to his breakthrough effort with the Super Falconets at Canada 2014.
Toyin Ayinla, Wemimo Mathew Olanrewaju and Auwal Bashar also return as his assistants and they will attempt to qualify the Falconets for the 2016 U20 Women’s World Cup in Papua New Guinea when they face Liberia in a qualifying game in July.
