TWO WEEKS CORONATION ACTIVITIES FOR NEW AYANGBUREN OF IKORODU BEGINS

As a new chapter officially begins today in the traditional ruling of Ikorodu Town, Lagos State, with events lined up to celebrate the installation of the new Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi (Adegorushen v) as the Paramount Ruler of the town commencing with huge excitement accross Ikorodu. The event coming up almost a year after the demise of the former monarch, Oba Salaudeen Afolabi Oyefusi is well anticipated by people of the Town despite some uproar that followed the choice of Oba Shotobi’s selection within the Rademo ruling House. The new Oba who has been at the Ipebi, the traditional seclusion house that preceeds his official coronation ceremony day, will be out today amidst pump and pageantry accompany by Traditional Chiefs, Kingmakers, Youths from the ruling Houses, Market women while walking down to the Palace. According to information gathered from a close source to the Palace, ‘activities lined up for the Coronation is about 2weeks which will include, different Youths events, Visitations by notable groups and associations paying homage to the new Monarch’. Learnt different Aso-Ebi has been bought by groups and according to Ruling House to commemorate all the activities. The event will culminate on he weekend of 14th and 15th August, 2015 with the final coronation.
