A graduate from Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, she rose to limelight featuring in Super Story Soap, Itohan, Aje-Olokun, Ojule-Kefa among others, in this Interview she speaks on her love for acting and why she cant act nude

Q Tell us what brings your interest into acting

ANS  I will say its a assion, i love to act, i used to act while in secondary school on stage and will tell me then you no how to act very well, so i like it from initial. Some actress also inspired me into it, i love the way Shola Sobowale plays are role, Genevieve Nnaji drives me crazy when i watch her so it has been art of me.

Q How involved were you then while you were in school

ANS  I was in charge of the Drama group it was a boarding school, Dr Shehu Lawan in Katsina, close to Funtua, i just do it for fun then but along the line people always tell me that am good while also advising me to go professional, i never noticed i was that good people always praise me, i think that really urged me on.

Q At what point did you made up your mind to that you going to be an actress

ANS I made up my mind when i finish secondary school but i could not go for it because have not been to Lagos before, i knew my Dad will not want me to be an actress, he has discouraged me based on some stories he heard about in the industry, he his principled and like education. When i wanted to go to University, i wanted to go for theatre Art but he would not agree, he wanted be to go into educational line, he said its good for home. So i dont have choice because i cant pay my school fees i have to do his bidding. so i went to Federal College of Education first, it was during that time that my Dad also told me to joined Man ‘o’ War  many years ago, i went to Kaduna to do an instructor for NYSC members in camp, so i met one actress there called Aunty Latifat, i was bold enough to call her to come since am there instructor , i asked her, is that not a tatoo you are wearing, she replied yes. I was just looking for a way to get closer to her, so when i later asked her shes an actress, she smiled and from there we became friend. But i was still in school, i cant go into acting fully even though she was ready to assist me, i planned to go to Lagos, i told my Dad initially he agreed but later he declined, but yet i still came to Lagos despite his effort to prevent me. I got to Lagos and met Aunty Latifat, she introduced me to the Odunfa Caucus which is the Ogogo and Yinka Quadri caucus, i sent two month and i got registered but i have to go back to school to finish.

Q so desite the fact that your Dad was against it, you went ahead

ANS My Dad was not totally against it, it was because of some stories he had hear about the industry, and sexual harrasment is everywhere, i will tell you that its got to a point when i was serving in Abuja, he gave me a contact of a erson that Direct movie internationally. He assisted me, since i wasnt in Lagos then, he wanted me to continue in Abuja. I knew he was doing that because he must have watch me on TV or people might have called him to say we saw your daughter in movies, but he won’t call to tell me because he  his not happy about the negative side of being an actress.

Q  Which of the movies you have acted in brings you to the limelight

ANS Super story, Itohan, its about a prostitute taking from Nigeria to Italy, i remember our Director then, i used to call her Aunty Pat, she’s now with Mnet, she noticed i acted the character very well even then i do not have an international passport, i quickly get one, i traveled from one country to the other and she gave me role in ‘Ojule Kefa’, that soap also added to my career.i feature in English Hausa and Yoruba film, i speaks hausa very well.

Q When was the first time you faced a camera recording movie

ANS Professionally it was Some years ago, it was in a yoruba movie called Aje-Olokun in Lagos, i didnt feel really jittery, i was just myself and people always commend me , Desmond Elliot and Abbey Lanre directed the film

Q Like how many films have you featured in

ANS Its many i cant really count apart from Soap opera in English and Hausa

Q Which is most tasking among them

ANS I will say its Super Story, Itohan

Q What plans do you have to produce your own film

ANS Its already in the kitchen, trying to get everything right, its a Yoruba fim because thats what i love most

Q Do you have a name for it already

ANS I wouldnt want to reveal it now but let me just say it, its called Owu, meaning jealousy. We are on the project, we have done the scripting, dialogue we are ready to shoot. I love family and romantic stories, so people should watchout for it

Q The first time you got paid for this job, how much was it

ANS I think its differ, the English film industry are more financially bouyant, the Yoruba is good as well based on your relationship and budget for the movie. In Yoruba, we are more like a family, if your brother featured in your film, you can only compensate him it might not be commiserate with the job, but majorly it differs from producer to producers.

Q For you how much was the first pay

ANS If i can remember it was 10k in a yoruba film about 5years ago, now i can boldly tell some producers whats at stake, i dare say that many years ago, i wont get any role, they will just look elsewhere.

Q In your short career have you been sexually harrased

ANS It depends on the kind of harrasment you are talking about

Q I mean sex for role

ANS sex for role is everywhere, in every sector, they want to get something from you before giving you job it now depends on your own volition as a professional.

Q Have you exerienced it

ANS Personally i have exerienced it but i didnt succumb to it because if you start your career like that, that is the way you will end up, you must know how to handle it without shunning the person off, you must be polite because it is very possible you might need the person one day since you are in same industry.

Q Can you act nude

ANS  NEVER, i cant for what, the kind of background i have doesnt even allow me to wear some certain cloths not to talk of acting nude. You can act scene as if you are having sex and you are not, you can even be having sex and doesnt show the expression, what you only need to do is to convince the audience that you are not.

Q What extent can you go in sex role

ANS I cant do real sex, i can do smooching, kissing, wearing bum-shorts, ordinary Bra anything beyond that, i cant.

Q 10years from now , how do you see your career

ANS I think i should be a well known actress and producer by then both locally and internationally
