Jordon Ibe has pledged his international future to England after snubbing Nigeria.

The Liverpool winger qualifies for Nigeria through his father and Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh offered him the chance to play for the African country. Oliseh claims Ibe’s family rang him to say he wants to focus on breaking into Roy Hodgson’s senior squad and he is already a member of Gareth Southgate’s Under-21 side. Oliseh said on twitter: “Jordon Ibe’s family informed me by a telephone call, that he was giving priority to an England call-up. We wish them well.” He said: “The fact is he’s playing for the Under-21s. They play for the Under-21s because they want to play for England. I am not going to start making players English by giving them a few minutes in games “I want Jordon to fight for his place in the team like everyone else. He is certainly a player we like very much and certainly a player we have eyes on.
