MAMA HID AWOLOWO PASSAGE:END OF AN ERA…….Sen. Kashamu

The Senator representing Ogun East Senatorial District, Prince Buruji Kashamu has joined other high profile Nigerians in this mourning mood  describing the death of the matriarch of the Awolowo family, Chief (Mrs) HID Awolowo, as the end of an era.

In a statement issued Saturday and made available by his media aide, Austin Oniyokor Kashamu said: “Mama’s passage into eternal glory signified the end of an era. At 99, we cannot but celebrate her exemplary life. She did not die but merely transited from this terrestial plane to the celestial.

“As a true ambassador of my senatorial district, Ogun State and Nigeria as a whole, I am proud of her exemplary virtuous life. In her private and public life, she lived true to her description as a “jewel of inestimable value” by the late sage and her husband, Pa Obafemi Awolowo.

“Therefore,on this occasion of her passage into eternal glory, I do not mourn but celebrate Ogun East’s, nay Ogun State’s gift to Nigeria, Africa and the black race. Adieu, Mama. We love you, but God loves you more.”
