Etisalat Unveils Winners Of EasyBusiness Millionaires Hunt
Etisalat, has unveiled the winners of the season of two of the EasyBusiness Millionaires Hunt.
The unveiling, which took place in Lagos, also saw the telecommunications giant award a N2 million grant and office equipment to each of the 10 winners along with a six-month expert support to help them actualise their business ideas..
The winners included Hauwa Liman,Ukamaka Ugwuoju, Oluwaseyi Dada,Toby Jejephilip, Abigail Adewumi and Oyeboade Makinde. Others are Yewande Towobola, Franke Okoye, Tunji Akande and Tomi Adegbenro.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Executive Officer of Etisalat Nigeria, Matthew Willsher, said the company is well positioned to help people make the transition from informal businesses to formal businesses built on viable structures.
Willsher’s words: “One of the big challenges we face is helping people make the transition from start up businesses to structured businesses. Transformation is one thing that affects us in business. Today, we are celebrating the emergence of a new crop of entrepreneurs with a difference. These are a group of young men and women whose brilliant minds have set them apart from their equals.”
The Etisalat CEO also urged the winners to prioritise customer satisfaction, noting that keeping faith with this principle will guarantee growth for their businesses.
Also speaking at the event, the Director of Enterprise Development Centre, Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos, Peter Bamkole, applauded Etisalat for embracing the challenge of supporting SMEs in the long haul.
Bamkole said: “It is very difficult in our environment today for young people to have opportunities given to them. I congratulate the Etisalat team on its holistic commitment to SMEs development. Each time I hear people talk about working with small businesses, what scares me most is that they just gloss over the surface. Etisalat’s commitment to this initiative reassures us at EDC that the company is in it for the long haul.”
The Etisalat EasyBusiness Millionaires Hunt, which is in its second season, is aimed at empowering young Nigerian entrepreneurs with outstanding and viable business ideas.
It is a platform designed to facilitate the development of SMEs through identification and empowerment of SME operators with innovative business ideas.
The season featured 50 entrepreneurs who were all trained at the Enterprise Development Centre of the Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos and empowered with office equipments.
Ten winners emerged from this lot after showing greater commitment and willingness to make a difference in the SME field and to handle the task before them with intelligence, diligence, innovativeness, character and creativity.
Etisalat introduced easybusiness propositions and products into the Nigerian market to make running business easy for SMEs in Nigeria and is focused on growing the Nigerian economy by developing SMEs through her innovative products designed for them
