APC TO CONDUCT FRESH PRIMARIES TO REPLACE AUDU
The All Progressives Congress has said it would conduct a fresh primary to pick a candidate for the Kogi State governorship election.The party announced the decision on Tuesday.The need for the fresh primary was necessitated by the death of its candidate for the election, Prince Abubakar Audu.
Audu died on Sunday after the election was conducted on Saturday.The Independent National Electoral Commission declared the election inconclusive owing to the number of invalidated votes but said on Tuesday the APC could replace Audu as it intends to conduct supplementary election in 91 polling units on December 5.Announcing the position of the APC to conduct a fresh primary to replace Audu on Tuesday was the National Chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun.Odigie-Oyegun said the party took the decision after receiving a letter from INEC that it could replace Audu..
