Abudu-Balogun Congratulates Tinubu As President-Elect, Urges Atiku, Obi To Accept Defeat
A former member of the House of Representatives, Hon Abiodun Abudu-Balogun has reacted to the victory of the President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the just concluded presidential election.
Hon Abudu-Balogun felicitated with Tinubu on his emergence as the 16th President of Nigeria.
In a press statement signed and made available to journalists in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital, Jon Abiodun Abudu-Balogun however urged the candidates of the major opposition party PDP, as well as Labour Party, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi respectively to accept the outcome of the election in the spirit of sportsmanship.
A member, Tinubu/Shettima PCC and Ogun state Coordinator, South West Parliamentarians Directorate, Abudu-Balogun said the emergence of Asiwaju Tinubu will usher in a remarkable transformation of Nigeria’s economy.
According to the federal lawmaker, the President-elect has a tendency of first class traits of bringing governance to the grassroots for the benefits of the entire citizenry.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Tinubu, candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC winner of Saturday’s presidential election.
Tinubu secured a total of 8, 794, 726 votes, while Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) finished in second position with 6, 984, 520 votes.
Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) came third with 6, 101, 533 votes.
