Abuja Authorities Raises Alarm Over Plans By Boko Haram To Attack Mosque,Churches, Markets

The Federal Capital Territory Administration has raised the alarm over plans by insurgents to attack crowded places in the Federal Capital Territory.

According to information provided by the FCTA, among places the insurgents are planning to attack are mosques, churches and markets.In this regard, the Director of Security Services of the FCTA, Mohammed M. Mohammed, has written a letter to the President of the Jama’atu Nasril Islam, the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria and the General Manager of the Abuja markets group.In the letter, titled: “Forewarning of Intelligence,” Mohammed said: “Intelligence reaching this office revealed that insurgents are planning to attack the Federal Capital Territory. Their main targets are Worship Centres and Markets with the use of young girls as members of aid groups to carry out their planned attacks.

“It is in view of the foregoing I am directed to inform you to communicate the content of this letter to all mosques, churches and markets across the FCT for extra vigilance, particularly unknown persons dressing as aid workers loitering around the worship centres and markets.”Mohammed went ahead to provide emergency numbers through which the police in the FCT could be reached.The numbers are 09063872207, 09053872208 and 09053872209.Dreaded sect, Boko Haram, had in the past hit the FCT, killing several persons
