The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, was on Tuesday summoned by President Muhammadu Buhari to the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
This followed the complaint on Monday by Buhari that Idris flouted his order concerning the killings by herdsmen in Benue State.
Buhari, who spoke during a visit to the crisis plagued State, said his instruction to Idris was to relocate permanently to Benue State until the resolution of the killings.
However, the Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, told President Buhari that Idris spent less than 24 hours in the state before moving on to neighbouring Nasarawa State.
This led to Buhari summoning Idris, who was the first caller on Tuesday morning at the Presidential villa.
Buhari, according to Presidency sources, received him in a private audience.
He left about 30 minutes after without speaking to anyone.
Informed sources said Buhari demanded for a full report on police operations till date from Idris to enable him make further decisions.
When contacted, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, confirmed the meeting, but refused to disclose details.
