FRIENDLIES: HOME BASED EAGLES STRANDED IN ABUJA

Members of the home-based Super Eagles are still languishing in Abuja as the Belgian Embassy is still holding on to the players and officials travelling documents.The senior national team’s spokesman, Toyin Ibitoye, disclosed that they are yet to get an headway in the application for entry visas ahead of their friendlies against Cameroon and Congo this Thursday and next week Tuesday.

“We have been told to return to the Embassy tomorrow for the visas and we hope they would be magnanimous enough to issue the visas in good time so that we can honour the first game on Thursday,” Ibitoye pleaded.Nigeria faces DR Congo on Thursday, before they tackle Cameroon three days later as part of preparation for next month’s 2018 World Cup qualifier against either Swaziland or Djibouti
