I Never Collected Money From Dasuki….Bode George

A former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Bode George, has denied receiving N100 million from a former National Security Adviser, retired Colonel Sambo Dasuki.

George, in reaction to a story by Sahara Reporters that he received N100 million from Dasuki, which was part of the $2.9 billion arms deal, said he did not even set his eyes on the former NSA throughout his tenure.

This was contained in a statement on behalf of George by the Chairman of Lagos Collectives, Prof. Tejumade Akitoye-Rhodes.The statement reads in full: “Sahara Reporters has now gone beyond the pale of gutter journalism in its utter malicious story linking Chief Bode George to a phantom N100 million allegedly collected from Sambo Dasuki, the former National  Security Adviser.“The libelous publication is outrightly borne upon a twisted and depraved imagination, lacking substance, stripped of any iota of truth, prompted by a primitive malignity.

“For the record, Chief Bode George did not collect a farthing from Dasuki or anybody else whatsoever. He has never even set eyes on the former NSA throughout his tenure in office talk less of collecting money from him. Dasuki of course is very much alive to corroborate this position.“Where then in the world did Sahara Reporters manufacture its fractured and hideous hack writing and grubby and venomous scribble from?

“Again, in its disdain for clarity and the truth, the grubby online outfit still refers to Chief Bode George as an ex convict despite the fact the man has been completely discharged and acquitted by the highest court in our land.

“It is rather sickening and sad when any two- bit wayfarer with an access to the Internet churns out absolute falsehood and desperate invectives in the name of journalism. Beer parlor reverie and drunken anecdotal scribbles are no substitute for journalism.”
