IBEDC JOINS FIGHT AGAINST COVID-19, DOLES OUT OVER N100MILLION WORTH OF RELIEF MATERIALS FRANCHISE WIDE, DONATES N5M TO UCH
As part of its corporate social responsibility and contributions towards mitigating the health hazards and hardships caused by the global pandemic COVID-19, Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) PLC has earmarked about Hundred Million Naira(N100,000,000) for the donation of Relief items such as Rice, Noodles and Semovita as part of our CSR support to the states we operate in. As known, we cover fully Ogun, Oyo, Osun and Kwara states and partly Niger, Kogi and Ekiti. We are also supporting one of the major medical facilities within our franchise, which has been designated as an apex care giver in the COVID-19 battle- the University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan with a donation of Five Million Naira(N5,000,000) for the purchase of critical medical supplies needed to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
This was stated by Engr. John Ayodele, Chief Operating Officer (COO) IBEDC represented by the Regional Head for Ibadan, Engr Peter Oyelami at the presentation of the Relief items to representatives of Oyo State Governor, Commissioners for Agriculture, Honorable Muyiwa Ojekunle and Energy, Barrister Temi Ashamu. The COO said, the Board, Management and staff of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) whilst applauding the proactive measures the federal government and the states’ executive Governors and their lieutenants have put in place in the fight against the Coronavirus Pandemic, realize that we need to join hands with the Government like other public spirited Nigerians and organizations have done in the fight against COVID-19. Specifically, we are donating food items worth Ten Million Naira(N10,000,00) for Oyo stare. The quantities are 2,500pcs of 5KG bags of Rice, 3000pcs of 1KG of Semovita and 1500 Cartons of Noodles. These donations are being replicated across all the states within our coverage area throughout the week and the next. In addition to this, we have committed to providing our customers regular power supply as much as it is within our remit and control. Also, we shall not disconnect non- paying customers during this period except it is based on safety advise. Our staff on Essential duty; the Technical crew are on ground to clear faults promptly. All this is being done to support the various government initiatives and help reduce the hardship the lockdown has occasioned on the citizens.
