‘ICONS OF MUSHIN’ VOLUME 11 BOOK FOR LAUNCH OCT 21……Femi Hamzat, Fola Adeola, Others For Honor
Mushin Projects, a grassroots organization is set to launch a book- Icons of Mushin (Volume 2), to showcase people from Mushin area of Lagos state that have excelled in their chosen paths within and outside Nigeria.
The book is also aimed at correcting the misconception and belief people have about the environment of Mushin as an abode never-do-well people in the Nigerian society.
The organization, under the leadership of a seasoned journalist and entrepreneur, Mr. ‘Tunde Ogunmola is also using the occasion to honour selected individuals from the area with “Mushin Ambassadorial Awards.”
The event is scheduled to hold on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA Secretariat Hall, Town Planning Way, Ilupeju, Lagos.
A press statement issued by the media office of Mushin Projects added that eminent personalities have been invited for the event.
The personalities in the about to be launched book, as revealed in the statement, include: the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat; business mogul and investor, Mr Fola Adeola; Primate Elijah Babatunde Ayodele of Inri Evangelical Spiritual Church; Super Falcons star, Asisat Oshoala; former general manager of Radio Lagos/Eko FM, Mrs Funke Moore; Alhaji Sulaimon Adio Atawewe; top actress, Kate Henshaw-Nuttall amongst others.
The event is supported by Polaris Bank, Ecobank, Global Excellence Magazine, TimelineNG, City Rovers, Najia News Direct, and Tasman Electro Voice.
According to Mr. Ogunmola, the book and awards were conceived to celebrate people from Mushin that are making waves in different fields.
“Many people think Mushin is a hotbed of crime, abode of criminal-minded people, that nothing good can come from Mushin but it’s a mere fallacy. Mushin breeds great personalities that are doing exceptionally well in different fields. This book, Icons of Mushin is to set the record straight and reveal various distinguished personalities Mushin has produced.
“The likes of Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams, Chief Ebenezer Obey, Dr. Muiz Banire (SAN), Distinguished Senator Ganiyu Solomon, Wande Coal, late Dr Sikiru Ayinde Barrister, late Moses Olaiya popularly a.k.a Baba Sala, Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, Sir Shina Peters, and many more, including my humble self are from Mushin,” he said, adding that the event promises to be an avenue to further promote the image of Mushin and sell it to the world as a unique location with positive values.
