IJESHALAND TUSSLE: COURT DISMISSES, DISGRACED ‘SELF ACCLAIMED KING’ OLAPADE AGORO’S SUIT…….Ordered To Pay Fine

An High Court of Justice sitting in Ilesa, Osun- State has ruled against one of the popular son of Ijesha-land Dr Olapade Agoro who has been parading himself as the Monarch or Chief  Atapami of Itapa, Ijesha , a town which leaders of Erinmo-Ijesha across all level claimed is not in existence. Similarly, the State government have also officially written him not to parade himself as a Chief of Itapa, with warnings that security agencies have been put on standby to check any action in that regards which can disrupt the peace of Ijeshaland, particularly Erinmo- Ijesha Community. It will be recalled that the Owa Obokun of Ijeshaland,  Alayeluwa Adekunle Aromolaran 11, who is the Paramount ruler of Ijeshaland had deposed him of such position about 30years ago, when according to the Monarch in a letter he wrote to the Court, that he noticed all the dubious activities of Dr Àgoro, hence, his decision to depose him. The Owa Obokun in the letter also went ahead to abolish the title in March 1983 But yet, Dr Agoro kept parading himself  as a  Chief of Owa- Atapa of Itapa-Ijesha, hereby accused of causing friction in the community. Incidentally,                                                                                                                                                                         Dr Agoro’s decision to drag, the Monarch and people of Erinmo-Ijeshaland to court wanting to reclaim his self acclaimed title back fired, as the Court sitting in Ilesa dismissed his case in entirety and also awarded N20,000 damages against him for disrupting peace of the community. Information at our disposal also has it that, Dr Agoro is presently wanted by the Osun State Police Command for refusing to honor a summon by the Police.
