Isaac Success Moves To English Premiership Signs N4,8b Record Fee With Watford

Watford has signed Nigerian striker, Isaac Success, for £12.5 million (N4.8 billion) from Spanish side, Granada.
The transfer was reportedly secured earlier on in the year, but it was agreed that there would be no official announcement until the end of the season out of respect for Granada’s relegation battle in La Liga.
After months of speculation, the two clubs have now officially confirmed the deal.
The 20-year-old has established himself as one of Europe’s brightest young talents after helping his side eventually avoid the drop with a series of impressive performances.
He had been linked with a number of European sides, including Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan, but Success’ agent, Dominic Egbukwu, insisted last February that the player would be making the switch to Vicarage Road.
Egbukwu said: “Athletico Madrid, Inter Milan and PSG have approached us. Plenty teams want him.
“[But] Granada are not releasing him to Valencia or any other club except Watford.”
Success has been comfortable playing on either side of a front three or as an out-and-out striker during his time with Granada.
He scored five goals in 30 games in La Liga last season.
Success will be expected to compete for a starting place in Watford’s first team next season alongside the likes of Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo.
The Hornets could face a struggle to hold onto Ighalo though after rejecting a £37.5 million bid from Shanghai SIPG for the striker.
It is unclear if the Chinese club, who are currently managed by ex-England boss, Sven-Goran Eriksson, will return with a higher offer.
