JIMI BENSON’S ICARE FOUNDATION DISTRIBUTES OVER 500 FOOD PACKS TO RESIDENTS OF IKORODU
Residents of Ikorodu Federal Constituency were filled with joy as Rep. Babajimi Benson MHR held another monthly Apo Aanu food distribution program on Saturday, 13th July, 2024.
The support initiative propelled through his iCare Foundation took place at his Constituency Office and was a significant moment of community empowerment and solidarity.
Among the notable attendees were the Director General of iCare Foundation Mayor Deen Sanwoola, Hon. Sulaimon Kazeem Olarewaju (Chairman of Ikorodu West LCDA), Hon. (Dr) Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba (Vice Chairman of Ikorodu LGA), various members of the Community Development Committee (CDC) and the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN).
Inhabitants from different parts of Ikorodu Division, including Ikorodu Local Central, Ikorodu North LCDA, Imota LCDA, Ijede LCDA, Ikorodu West LCDA, and Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, were the beneficiaries of the distribution.
A total of 500 food packs were distributed, providing much-needed relief and support to the community.
The program also extended its generosity to people with special needs within Ikorodu Division, including members of the Dwarf Association of Nigeria (Ikorodu Chapter).
This inclusive approach ensured that a broad spectrum of the community’s needs were addressed, reinforcing the commitment of Rep. Babajimi Benson and his iCare Foundation to uplift every segment of society.
With each edition, Apo Aanu continues to foster a sense of community and care, making a significant impact on the lives of many residents.
Mrs. Oghenero Alice from Ikorodu West LCDA expressed her deep appreciation for the support provided by Rep. Benson and his iCare Foundation.
“We are so grateful for this assistance of welfare packages because everyone knows the situation of the country. Thanks for feeding us,” she said, reflecting the sentiments of many who attended the event.
Elder Idowu from Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA, a respected elder in the community, lauded the effort, saying, “This program is laudable, given the high cost of goods in the market.
I give kudos to our representative at the House of Representatives for doing this for his people every month.”
Elder Idowu’s praise connotes the sentiments of many who benefitted from the program, highlighting the significant positive impact such initiatives can have in communities facing economic hardships.
Mrs. Christianah, the secretary of the Dwarf Association of Nigeria (Ikorodu Chapter), commended Rep. Babajimi Benson, while expressing deep appreciation for his ongoing support.
“Words can not describe our gratitude towards the consistent inclusion of our members in this program. It means a lot to us that our needs are acknowledged and catered to. This is a reflection of our lawmaker’s dedication to serving every segment of our community,”
“We hope that this initiative will inspire other leaders to adopt similar practices, ensuring that all residents, regardless of their abilities, are given equal opportunities and support,” she added.
In all, the welfare distribution program demonstrated the commitment of Rep. Benson’s passion for ameliorating food insecurity and supporting vulnerable populations in Ikorodu Federal Constituency.
