Kwara To Implement Check-in System For Workers
As part of continuous measures to eliminate ghost workers and ensure productivity, the Kwara State Government will implement Check-in System in the State.
The State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed disclosed this while receiving the report of the State Personnel Database Development committee.
Governor Ahmed said that the system will require workers to swipe in and out of work every day noting that the data generated will determine payment of salaries.
He also noted that the system will ensure punctuality and continuous verification of workers.
This equipment, according to the Governor will be deployed at no cost to the State government by the consortium that handed the verification exercise.
Alhaji Ahmed also noted that other measures to be adopted include clear job prescription templates for all roles and functions with clear itemization of requisite qualification for each as well as standard annual performance appraisals.
Governor Ahmed reemphasized his administration’s commitment to overhauling the local government system to ensure efficient administration as well as promotion of the people’s welfare through prompt payment of entitlements and provision of people-oriented projects.
Alhaji Ahmed said a committee has been established to verify claims of genuine workers and pensioners who were not verified under the concluded exercise. He said that everyone had the opportunity to be verified since the exercise was held across the 16 local government councils over nine months.
