Annually, the International Women’s Day is a day set aside to celebrate women at all levels across the globe, and draw attention to their efforts, achievements, challenges and future goals.

On this occasion of year 2024 international Women’s Day, aptly themed “Inspire Inclusion”, I want to specially salute our iconic women past and present, who had not only “inspired inclusion” in their own various ways, but had also impacted and empowered generations of women and men in their spheres and are still on the front lines.

To my legendary grandmother, *Alhaja (Dr) Abibatu Mogaji*(OON) (of blessed memory), in your lifetime and capacity as the President-General of the Association of Market Women and Men in Nigeria and Iyaloja-General of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, you were at the forefront of women inclusion, emancipation and empowerment.
You also fought many epic battles to equip the African woman with voice, power and dignity. You won gallantly. Today you are no longer here but, we remember your efforts and legacies. We celebrate you for making good impacts and inspiring inclusion in your time. HIWD, Ashabi Okin.

To the woman who practically lived her span advocating for women inclusion and empowerment, *Chief (Mrs) Olukemi Nelson*, your beautiful memory is remembered and appreciated. Your works as the voice of the voiceless remain indelible. HIWD, Ashake Okin.

To the vehicle that brought me to this side, the woman who knew no other life, than to educate, empower and include her gender and everyone, *Chief (Mrs) Abiodun Arafat Kasunmu*(of blessed memory). Inclusion was your vision both in private and public. I felicitate and celebrate you today and always. HIWD, Ayinke Okin!

To the mother of the nation and harbinger of #RenewedHope, the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, *Sen. Oluremi Tinubu (CON),* whose mantra and mission in her years of public service and till now, have been inclusion, inclusion and inclusion, I salute and celebrate you Ma. HIWD, Dearest Mum!

To the The First Lady of Lagos, from whose heart flows the milk of kindness and goodness, *Dr(Mrs) Ibijoke Sanwoolu*; We see your doings among our women across the State. Kudos and God bless. HIWD, Your Excellency!

To the power behind the throne and the amiable Queen of 01, *Chief (Mrs) Falilat Obasa,* our very own Speaker’s wife and Chairperson of LASLEWA, thank you for walking the talk of inclusion. I celebrate you. HIWD Ma!

To my wonderful wife, best half and epitome of womanhood, *Princess (Mrs) Morenike Esther Kasunmu*, the space available here can never be enough to honor and celebrate you on this occasion of IWD. Here are your flowers, keep up up the good works. HIWD darling!

The list of great women and icons of inclusion are actually endless but this piece would not be complete without the mention of a few:
*Alhaja Abimbola Jakande; Mrs, Oluremi Hazmat; Hon. (Mrs) Mojisola Meranda; Mrs. Bolaji Dada; Alhaja Olusola Kokumo; Dr. Joe Okei- Odumakin; Azizat Oshoala* and many others..I celebrate you all.

To all our women out there in IKeja Constituency 2, as well as all our dutiful women, who daily strive for a better future in the markets, hospitals, Industries, offices, farms, work places, military, paramilitary and other sectors of life, we celebrate and appreciate your contributions. May your efforts yield bountiful results, and may your tomorrow be better than today.
Happy International Women’s Day 2024 to you all.

As a lawmaker and leader of thought in my sphere, I shall continue to do my utmost to support our women at all levels and promote inclusion and empowerment of the womenfolk for the benefit of the larger society.
Once again,bHappy International Women’s Day to you all.
