Liberation City Marks 12 Anniversary, Recounts Prophetic Journey

The Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministry, also known as Liberation City,  turned 12 years in the service of the Lord. Different activities were held to  mark the 12th anniversary of the church which took place between  November 22 to30, 2015, including the Partners and Pastors conference held on November 24 while its international partners and pastors conference took place  on Wednesday, November 25.The theme of the anniversary was: THY KINGDOM COME. Gozie Okeke, Eben Joe Praise, Gordon, KC Brown, Gabriel Peters, Amaka Joel and Liberation City Voice were among the Artiste that  dazzled worshippers during the anniversary celebration.The growth of the church, which started from a small classroom auditorium at Bashir Close in Ojodu, Berger, a border area between Ogun and Lagos states, but has now metamorphosed to an international church with branches across the globe, is one of the reasons for celebration. According to its General Overseer, Dr.Chris Okafor, the Lord gave the commission to him since he was eight years old and the mandate has been to win 1billion souls and depopulate the kingdom of darkness. He said the church, also called City of Liberty and Solution by the members, came into existence in November 2003 with few congregants doing house fellowship at Bashir Street.

 “There is this saying that every big thing starts small, but the mandate must be fulfilled,” said Dr. Okafor, as he added that God gave him a vision to “go to Lagos and win souls to the kingdom.” He declared that he never knew anybody in Lagos but was spurred on by the belief that “when God gives you a vision, he will also make provision.” The cleric, popularly called the Oracle of God, explained further that the first Sunday service was attended by the few members, the second recorded more worshippers and the third one was flooded by new members because of what God was doing in the church.

He related: “Lots of souls we won for Christ as many people under various spiritual captivity were let go through the Holy Spirit, and since then, more and more people are coming for worship in the church. “After a year at the former church, we began to erect canopy as the church auditorium could no longer contain our numerous worshippers, even it got to a stage where the neighbors complained of too much crowd in their vicinity.“It was at that juncture that God opened the eyes of his servant to locate Oshofisan Street in Ojodu Berger where the permanent headquarter of the church is now located and with God on Liberation City’s side, the beautiful edifice was erected without stress and without borrowing money from any bank or anybody.” The church, today, now has a TV station, Liberation Television, with which it wins souls to the kingdom of God. This is as the Chris Okafor Humanity Foundation too has been touching lives through it empowerment programmed.

 The foundation has empowered over 300 artisans with cash base of 50,000 each to start something on their own. This is in addition to the monthly widow empowerment program.

 Dr. Okafor’s prophesies to continents and nations, to the glory of God, have also come to pass. Among these are those on Zambia, Ghana and Nigeria presidential elections and the recent onslaught in Paris, France, which left the country with over 200 persons killed by the terrorists
