Mob Beats Suspected Handsets Thieves To Coma

Angry mob in the early hours of yesterday morning  descended on two Suspected Handsets Thieves At the popular Ogbeogonogo market in Asaba, Delta State and beat them to coma.

It was gathered that the two Suspects allegedly made futile attempt to snatch away handsets belonging to some of the market traders who were busy attending to customers when the bubble burst.

Eyewitness, Gladys Okew said the Suspects in their attempt to escape, were nabbed by the mob who gave them the beating of their lives, a situation they bled in their noses into coma

The two Suspects; Comas Oreva, and Johnson Egbo, a senior police officer who spoke to newsmen on condition of anonymity said claimed to be under graduates of the Delta State University DELSU adding that the were rushed to the federal Medical Center FMC Asaba where are admitted for treatment.

But the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Andrew Aniamaka who confirmed the arrest of the Suspects, said” the Suspects were heavily beating and they bled into coma and were subsequently taken to F MC Asaba where they are being treated before they will be charged to court, the police will ensure that those Handsets Thieves do not operate again in Asaba,Delta State”

Sources said the two Suspected Handsets Thieves allegedly engaged in fighting the mob and in the process, three Handsets fell off the pocket including an identity card , thereby leaving the mob to hit them hard before they went into coma.

Some of the traders who spoke to newsmen, one of them,Magret Oseh said the Suspects have been responsible for most of the missing Handsets belonging to traders and buyers at the market and called on the police to always check the of these hoodlums to avoid future occurrences.
