NGO Charged FG Early Entrepreneurship For Kids

The federal government has been  charged by a Non  Governmental Organization  Mums Booth   on the need to see financial and entrepreneurship education as an important part of the child’s life, adding that the country would overcome the challenge of unemployment if it could imbibe the culture of “Catch them young.

The Convener of Project Start, Martha Tawiyah made this statement during the one day vocational training for the kids in Abuja.

I would want the government to see this training as an important part of the child’s life, we have a lot of adults enrolled in wrong fields today, some places in our countries we are not moving forward, like you have engineers in banks” she said.

“If you can focus on financial education, entrepreneur education for these kids, things they can do alongside their education, let’s bring out the genius in the kids, let’s start early enough, let’s do this for this kids to make the world and better place”

According to Tawiyah Project start is a program initiated to train people free of charge and the project have trained 330 women in Abuja and jos on business skills, vocational skills and entrepreneurial skills to help them start their own businesses.

“This edition, we are training children, that is why it is called project start for kids, because we found out in the course of training about 330 women in Abuja and Jos in three editions, we found out that if we start early it we make a lot of difference, so we decided to do the kids edition this time around.”

“We have registered about 52 children and their age range is five to fifteen years. we are teaching them and telling them the skills they need as an entrepreneur to be resilient, to be curious, to be persistent, we will reach out to the parents to ensure they continue practicing this skills and also help guild them.”
