Nigerian Egba Businessman, Alani Bankole Emerges ADP Chairman Board of Trustees(BOT)

If information at our disposal is anything to go by, Egba businessman and father of Former Dimeji Bankole has emerged the BOT Chairman of the Action Democratic Party at an election held today at the Nigeria’s federal capital territory.

ADP, being touted as a new mega party for the 2019 general elections had its elections into key positions and the Egba businessman defeated his opponent with a total of 14votes.

We gathered that the party was also presented its certificate at the Inec headquaters in Abuja in an event witnessed by the party executives and members from different parts of the country.

Weeks ago, Chief Alani Bankole loyalists in their scores, defected at an expanded stakeholders meeting of ADP held on Tuesday at the new party secretariat located inside the GRA, Ibara, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

A 72-member protem state executive committee of the party was, however, unveiled with a former Commissioner for Housing in the state, Chief Wale Egunleti, emerging as chairman, while a former Director of Owena River Basin Development Authority, Mr Femi Sowunmi, emerging as the acting state secretary. 

Meanwhile, in a press statement issued at the state level weeks ago, the ADP State Publicity Secretary, Sunday Adeleye, confirmed the expanded stakeholders meeting where the 72-member protem executive was inaugurated.

“The state Protem Committee as unveiled will midwife the activities of the party in Ogun State pending an approved congress and had been charged with the responsibility of harmonising its members with interested groups, associations and reputable party leaders into protem executives at the polling booths, wards and local governments across the state. 

“The Action Democratic Party (ADP), a mega political party having its ideology based on party supremacy, democratic empowerment of the young people and an all-inclusive people driven government is out to re-engineer the various sector of government and provide viable solution to the anomalies created by the successive administration in Nigeria.” Adeleye submitted.

However, the new mega party is an initiative to solidify the northern-Southern Alliance in line with providing a formidable opposition party for the ruling APC with the irreconcilable crisis rocking the fold of PDP both at the National level and other states who has lost its members to the ruling party.
