Not Too Young To Run Law: Kalu Tasks Nigerian Youths

Former Governor of Abia State and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Dr. Orji Kalu, has charged the youth to take advantage of the Not-Too-Young-To-Run law.

President Muhammadu Buhari had on Thursday signed into law the Not-Too-Young-To-Run Bill.

According to Kalu, the new law will gives room for more youths to run for elective positions.‎

Commending Buhari for signing into law the much-awaited bill, Kalu stressed that it was high time Nigerian youths embrace politics as a way of contributing to nation building.

Speaking on Thursday with a group of students from University of Abuja at his Abuja residence, the former governor described the administration of Buhari as youth friendly, adding that future of the country is bright under the current administration.

He stressed that the Federal Government has through its youth empowerment programmes and social investments demonstrated its determination to uplift the youth.

He said: “With the signing into law of the Not-Too-Young-To-Run Bill, President Muhammadu Buhari has again demonstrated his support for the youth.“The new law will encourage the youth to take active part in politics.‎

“The time is now for Nigerian youths to take the new law as a challenge to prove their intellectual and political capacity.

“The youth are the future of the world and it is high time we started giving them opportunity to take the lead.

“I congratulate Nigerians especially the youth on this remarkable milestone.

“The Not-Too-Young- To-Run law is now a reality.”

The APC chieftain while advising the political class to live up to expectations, urged the electorate to vote according to their conscience in the 2019 general elections.
