Ogun Lawmaker, Hon Adebowale Ojuri’s Giant Strides In One Year

                                                                                                                                                                                No doubt he his one of the most outstanding Lawmaker in the past one year in Ogun State 8th Assembly, a Lawyer by profession and very passionate about his people. It will interest many to know that, the politician in a bid to still keep close contact with his people, shuttles between Abeokuta to perform his legislative duties and back to Ijebu-Ode on daily basis.   

Representing Odogbolu Constituency, Hon Adebowale Ojuri while speaking to www.timelineng.com recently divulged that its been very tough, though our government is more prepared than many of the PDP controlled State because we already started the implementation of Treasury Single Account in Ogun State, we have been able to shoot-up our Internally Generated Revenue a bit. But, because the Governor’s performance in the first term was above expectation, the people has also doubled their expectations on him this time around and its going to be difficult we all are witness to the drop in allocations due to fall in oil.So hopefully if some of our money are refunded by the FG, it will do us a lot of good to in continuation of infrastructural development” The handsome dude while giving praises to his colleagues led by the Speaker, says ” the relationship that exist between the executive and the legislature in the State  has been responsible for the success we have recorded so far, we have been able to work together even with the little resouces, and am certain we will continue in that regards as we progresses”    On his own achievement, Ojuri assures that he has been able to give adequate representation in terms of legislating and general supports in his constituency.

LEGISLATIVE ACTIVITIES

28th July, 2015 – Adoption of the report of the committee of whole on the appointment of Chairman and members of Transitional Committees for the twenty local government councils in Ogun state

29th July, 2015 – Approval for the State Government to restructure commercial banks loans into federal government of Nigeria bonds

18th August, 2015 – Adoption of the report of the Select Committee on the constitution of House standing committee

1st August, 2015 – Approval for the State Government to obtain loan to settle workers’ salaries deduction

8th October, 2015 – Confirmation of Appointments of the Nominees of the Governor for the post of Commissioners in Ogun state and approval to appoint twenty (20) Special Advisers

13th October, 2015 – Approval for the State to participate in Central Bank of Nigeria Infrastructural Intervention Fund to the tune of Ten billion naira

23rd October, 2015 – Confirmation of additional nominees of the Governor for the post of Honourable Commissioners in Ogun State

27th October, 2015 – Approval given to the State Government to extend the tenure of twenty Local Government Transition Committee in the state by three months 

24th November, 2015 – Presentation of 2016 Appropriation Bill

1st December, 2015 – Year 2016 Appropriation Bill (Second Reading)

29th December, 2015 – A bill for a law to authorize the issue and appropriation of the sum of Two hundred billion, two hundred million, four hundred and fifty three thousand, three hundred and fifty two naira only from the consolidated revenue fund for the services of Ogun State Government of Nigeria, for the financial year ending Thirty First day of December, Two thousand and Sixteen was read the Third Time and Passed

14th January, 2016 – Resolved, that a debate be opened on the request of the State Government to effect changes on the state logo

 – Changes on the State logo approved

28th January, 2016 – Approval given to the State Government to extend the tenure of twenty Local Government Transition Committee in the state by three months 

28th January, 2016 – Adoption of the Report of the Committee of the Whole on the screening of the nominees of the Governor as Chairman and Members of Two Statutory Commissions in Ogun State 

1st February, 2016 – Special Session on the celebration of Ogun State at forty

15th March, 2016 –The Local Government (Amendment) Law 2010- A bill for a law to amend the local government law of Ogun State (2010) – First Reading

17th March, 2016 – Local Government (Amendment) law 2016 – Second Reading

5th April, 2016 – Adoption of Polluter – Pay Principle in the management of solid wastes in Ogun state

5th May, 2016 – Provision of opportunities and equal treatment for physically challenged people in the society

5th May 2016 – Approval given to the State Government to extend the tenure of twenty Local Government Transition Committee in the state by three months

5th May, 2016- Third Reading and Passage of a bill for a law to amend the local government (creation and transitional provisions) Law 2002

5th May, 2016 – Enforcement of Ogun State Commercial Colours on all Commercial Transport Vehicles in the state
