OGUN PROMOTES 5,864 TEACHERS, OTHERS

The Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has approved the promotion of 5,624 teachers under the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) for the year 2015. 
A statement signed by the Acting Board Secretary, SUBEB, Mr. Adesoji Adewuyi, revealed that also promoted, are 240 non-teaching staff across the 20 Local Government Education Authorities in the state. 
He also said over N64.6 million has been approved for teaching and non-teaching staff of the board as end of the year bonus. 
The SUBEB Chairman,  Alhaji Olatunde Okewole, according to the statement, said this latest state government’s gestures were further proofs of its commitments to quality basic education in the state and also encourage the SUBEB workforce for a better service delivery. 
He reiterated that government would not relent at  ensuring regular capacity building for teachers for them to be abreast of new teaching techniques as well as the non-teaching staff in administrative strategies. 
The SUBEB boss assured that government would ensure regular promotion and robust welfare package for its workforce, despite the present economic challenges. 
While promising the beneficiaries that their letters of promotion would be released soon, he urged them to be dedicated and re-double their efforts at improving the quality of teaching and service delivery to justify their elevation.
