As Jim Rohn puts it, “The objective of leadership is to help those who are doing poorly to do well and to help those who are doing well to do even better.”

The above philosophy is characterized by the life of the Senator Representing the good people of Abia North in the nation’s Green Chamber, His Excellency, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu. In the Fifty years of his mortal existence, Orji Kalu has devoted and dedicated his life for the service of humanity, and has creditably discharged and still discharging his duties to the best of his ability, thereby distinguishing himself appropriately and adequately.

As the Senator Representing Abia North Senatorial Zone, he has been relentless in turning that zone into a project site, aside his numerous interventions in the areas of stomach infrastructure, Youth and women Empowerment, and promotion of peace, unity and security of the people of the Area and even beyond.

He is known for his Vocality, vibrancy, ebullience and exuberance, and one of the string voices of the 10th National Assembly, with several bills and motions to his credit.

As at the last count, Senator Kalu has within the last five years of his Representation attracted the rehabilitation or construction of so many schools, Roads, bridges, etc, which are all visible for verification. He has turned Abia North senatorial District to a construction site and one would ask if he is the only Senator from Abia State.

He is a detribalize Nigerian, with friends and relationships across the Federation, hence the numerous titles and recognition from virtually all Zones and ethnic nationalities of the Country.

Suffice it to say that the Senator isn’t successful in politics alone, but in business and leadership circle as well.

From his humble and small start as a palm oil retailer, He rose to become the Chairman of SLOK Holding, a conglomerate that would consists of a number of successful companies, including the Ojialex Furniture Company, SLOK Nigeria Limited, SLOK United Kingdom Limited, Adamawa Publishers Limited, SLOK Vegetable Oil, Aba, SLOK Paper Factory, Aba, SLOK United States Incorporated, SLOK Ghana, Togo, Cotonou, Guinea, South Africa, Liberia, Botswana, SLOK Korea, Supreme Oil Limited, SLOK Airlines, Sun Publishing Limited, and First International Bank Limited.

It is on record that Senator Kalu became the youngest Nigerian to receive the National Merit Award (MON) from President Ibrahim Babangida, at the age of 26 in 1986. And later was selected as the Nigerian Chamber of Commerce’s Industrialist of the Year.

Like a Golden fish with no hiding place, Senator Kalu’s name rings bell in the ear and home of virtually every Nigerian, and has become the beautiful bride Nigerians are yet to maximize his numerous leadership potentials.

Let’s keep hope Alive with OUK.
