PDP Chairmanship: Dokpesi Steps Up Campaign, Storm Akwa-Ibom

The chairmanship hopeful of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi, has vowed to rebuild and reposition the party if elected at the party’s National Convention, billed for August 17, 2016, in Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital. Dokpesi gave the assurance when he took his campaign to Akwa Ibom state. Dokpesi He said his records as a pioneer of successful projects in the past rightly positions him as the right man to lead the rebuilding process of the PDP. Dokpesis said: “PDP remains the party that was founded for all Nigerians. We started well but we missed it at a point. We abandoned zoning principle and was far from the electorates; we paid for it in 2015. “It is proper to right the wrongs and start from the foundation to restore the lost glory of the party. I have come to solicit for your prayer, support and endorsement. My record puts me in the right perspective to rebuild this party. I am a pioneer at building and rebuilding. My record at African Ocean line; we started private radio broadcast with Raypower and you are all witness to what we have achieved with AIT.” He said the transformation of Akwa Ibom state by successive governments in the state is a testament of what PDP is known for, describing the state as a reference point of good governance in Nigeria. The PDP state chairman, Obong Paul Ekpo, who described him as an illustrious son of Nigeria, especially the South South assured him of their support and prayer, noting that the delegates will decide the outcome of the convention. “This is the beauty of the new PDP. The people will decide. You have offered yourself to rebuild the party, we have heard you and the delegates will do the right thing at the convention,” he said.
