PDP warns APC against witch hunting N/Assembly Clerk
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has warned the All Progressives Congress (APC) against any attempt to intimidate or harass the Clerk of the National Assembly, Salisu Maikasuwa over the outcome of Tuesday’s elections in the National Assembly, reports Vanguard.
The party said any attempt by the APC to transfer its frustration on Maikasuwa would amount to witch-hunt and victimization.
Olisa Metuh, PDP’s National Publicity Secretary in a statement on Thursday, said the undertone of the statement of President Muhammadu Buhari’s spokesman, Garba Shehu that the Clerk ignored the request of Buhari to shift the inauguration time sends a serious signal which should not be ignored.
The party lampooned the President and the APC for fixing a meeting to address their legislators the same time Buhari had directed the Assembly to be inaugurated in line with the constitution.
