Reuben Abati Should Keep His Stinking Pen, By Yusuf Jimoh Aweda

I read the sterile content written by Reuben Abati titled “Nigerians And The Failed Coup In Turkey” and how he inimically called President Erdogan a bad guy and other obnoxious words. He also derogatorily questioned Nigerians if they could face a military tank to defend their country as he spoke ill of the occupy Nigeria as a mere “copy-cat” drama.

Abati has forgotten so soon that President Erdogan had tirelessly invested in the lives of his people and their intelligence which informed their overwhelming and unprecedented support for him during the juvenile and the most ridiculously hilarious coup in the history of the world . No matter the negligible laxity Erdogan might have with his invisible and tiny imperfection, his citizens refused to trade the integrity of their good president with filthy military junta and crappy coup.

Abati’s deliberate obliterating remark about Turkish Airline for making easy access to Europe and making all the money while no Nigerian Airline surfaced on the same route is another crystal reason to show the piece lacks the basic human logic. The controversial piece is a public display of barren argument from a man who is struggling to grope for his annihilated public integrity in the thickness of his self created darkness .

Turkish Airline is an International Airline that has recorded successes overtime with admirable love from its customers.

President Tayyip Recep Erdogan answered this himself when he boastfully remarked on his achievement,

“We have manufactured the first military tank, first plane, first military satellite. We have planted 2 billion, 770 million trees.
We have developed Turkey such that it moved from 111th position to 16th position among world economic powers. We have settled all our debts.
We have increased our exports from 23 billion to 153 billion. We are planning to have 300,000 full-time research scientists within 10 years.
Our national carrier (Turkish Airline) rating is 1st class by European standard.
Only our people have the right to call us to account through the ballot boxes” –

I think if anyone is to call the vibrant Erdogan a bad guy, arrogant , dictator and also charge Nigerians to truly defend democracy with their lives on the line like the Turks did few days ago. It should not be from someone like the depraved Abati, who was a staunch advocate of a corrupt government, the town crier who ran robust defence for the diversion of security funds that endangered many Nigerians’ lives.

I still find it unthinkable why Abati can’t hide his shame when the pungent smell of his ruined integrity still hovers in the corridors of moral discussions. It is better he remains in obscurity to re-assemble his crumbled reputation. Instead of the public disgrace of bringing out his stinking pen to thwart the success of a progressive government of Turkey while they joyfully ruined ours in Nigeria with their complex corruption records .
