Sale Of Assets: Olanipekun Challenge Obasanjo To Expose Cabals

A legal luminary, Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN) has challenged the former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo to be bold enough to mention the cabal he said bought some of the nation’s assets which were sold in the previous administrations.He said this, yesterday, at the commissioning of the Vice Chancellor’s Lodge which he and his wife donated to Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo. The former President had backed the sale of some national assets but said the Federal Government must ensure that they are not bought by the same cabal. Olanipekun said: “Chief Obasanjo is our former President. He knows so much. He should tell Nigerians who he referred to as cabals.” He said this just as he advised the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration to stop blaming the unimpressive economic crisis on previous administration but should justify the mandate Nigerians gave him in the last election by alleviating the sufferings being experienced by the people. He said: “I am not interested in any political office and I am not begging for any position. But I insist and I have a right to insist that Nigeria must be governed properly. “I am saying that today, Nigeria is not being governed properly. There is rudderlessness on the part of the government both at the Federal, state and local government level. They are leaving things that they should do undone.”
