Senator Ganiyu Solomon Honoured As ‘Outstanding Political Leader’ at 5th Timeline Nigeria Lecture by ‘Tunde Ogunmola

For his exemplary leadership qualities, political acumen and steadfastness in steering the ship of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to resounding success and victory within his immediate community of Mushin and Odi-Olowo, Lagos state and Nigeria at large, distinguished Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon (GOS), has been bestowed with “’Outstanding Political Leader’ award.

Senator GOS was honoured alongside former Ogun State governor and now Senator representing Ogun-East, Otunba Gbenga Daniel and his counterpart from Abia State, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, with Lifetime Achievements awards each.

The organisers of 5th edition of Timeline Awareness Initiative Lecture and Awards, held on 29th May, 2024, at Radisson Blu, Ikeja, Lagos, honoured Senator Solomon, a notable member of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), the highest decision-making body in Lagos State, the APC and The Mandate Movement Apex Leader of Mushin LG and Odi-Olowo LCDA, as well as the Director-General of the APC Campaign Council in Lagos State during the 2023 elections.

Senator GOS who, unavoidably, could not physically grace the occasion, was presented with the meritorious award at his residence in Lagos by the organisers.

Other awardees include the Speaker of Lagos Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa; Senator Tokunbo Abiru; Hon. Gboyega Nasir Isiaka; Hon. Yinka ‘Esho’ Kazeem; Bukola Olopade, and others.

Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon is a one time Mushin Local Government chairman, a House of Reps member as well as member of the Red Chamber of the National Assembly for two consecutive terms, from 2007 till 2015.

Senator Solomon was the Minority Whip in the 7th Senate, the Chairman of Senate Committee on Capital Market and member of various committees. In discharging his oversight functions, Senator GOS sponsored bills on Amendment of the National Directorate of Act, Electronics Commerce, Whistle Blowers Protection, Institution of Capital Market Registrars’, Elderly Centre Cancer Research and Treatment Centre, among others.

Senator GOS who co-sponsored over ten motions, was a governorship aspirant in Lagos State in 2015.
