Governor Akinwunmi Ambode delivers network of 21 roads in Agbado-Oke Odo LCDA tomorrow (Easter Monday). I visit the Covenant University regularly. I take Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway to Otta, Ogun State. The journey takes me two and a half hours to go and another to come back from my home in Ejigbo.

Today, I made this trip in two and a half hours to and fro.Ask me how? As the Commissioner for Information & Strategy, I knew our administration has built a network of 21 roads and one of them connects with Otta. I decided to try the route to Covenant University. It worked!

The roads include:
Ikola Road with Odo Obasanjo Bridge – 6.4km (from Ipaja/Command to Ilo River);
Ogunseye Road – 1.75km (from Ajasa/Command to Ikola Road);
Oko Filling Road – 1.5km (from AIT to Ilo River);
Osenatu Ilo road – 620m (from Ibari Road to Ilo River); Amikanle road – 3.1km (from AIT to Ogunseye Road);
Aina Aladi road – 1.9km (from AIT to Ilo River) and
Aiyetoro Road with a bridge– 1.4km (from New Market/Ishefun Road intersection to Ilo River).

As a former chairman of Ejigbo LCDA, I know that the Agbado-Oke-Odo LCDA would have had to save funds for 50 years to do these roads.

I remember the late Pastor Kenny, a former chairman, lamenting that only God could rescue the community from under development.
Despite his efforts and his doctoral dissertation, the current chairman, Dr. Arogun couldn’t have performed this feat in such a short time. This is the significance of Gov. Ambode’s intervention.

In a way, the late Pastor Kenny would be singing Hallelujah with the Saints now, happy that what seemed impossible has been achieved.

Even before the commissioning, an editor of a national newspaper told me that after seeing that the road to his home has been tarred, he had to go to the bank early in the morning to pay his Land Use Charge.  He said an administration which put tax payers money to good use should be supported with more taxes.

So if you live, work or trade along these routes, pray for the return of the man who is making your votes count.
