Traders in Sokoto To Get Another N1bn Direct –Loan
Traders in Sokoto State would soon , benefit from another N1bn direct loan from the state government, Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has said .
Tambuwal, while addressing members of the state Chamber of Commerce and Industries during an interactive session with Sokoto Traders Association and the state business community added that, the N1bn direct loan was not part of the initial N2bn loan to be disbursed to traders.
Speaking in an interactive session with members of the business community at Sokoto International Conference center, Tambuwal categorically noted that the loan would be provided through the reinvigorated State Investment Company, State Chamber of Commerce and Sokoto Traders Association.
While stressing that the repayment period for these loans has been extended to two years, Tambuwal further noted that, the monies would be disbursed to all beneficiaries after satisfying the laid dawn conditions.
The governor who appealed to all in the state to vote PDP again at all levels, added that, all beneficiaries are not expected to repay with any interest hence, the state government has canceled interest payment by loan beneficiaries.
On his part, former governor of the state, Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa, reminded the traders that Tambuwal is implementing a damage control policy and urged them to vote for him once again as a man who has the political will, capacity and intelligence to move the state to greater heights.
Bafarawa, again, charged them to be patriotic enough to join hands with the Tambuwal led government to drive a course that will rescue and put the state on a pedestal of development.
Earlier, the president of the state Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Alh Muazu Bello Magajin Rafi, thanked Tambuwal for his enormous support and encouragement to the business community in the state and announced that the state is organising a solo exhibition in Tahoua, Niger Republic from February 3, to 6, 2019.
The state chairman of Sokoto Traders Association, Alhaji Yaro Gobirawa, on his part, assured Tambuwal of having all the traders in the state solidly behind his reelection bid.
